PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT IN BELMONT BAY

The Board of Directors of the BBHOA has recently received a flurry of inquiries on the Northern Woodbridge Small Area Plan as approved by the Prince William County's Board of Supervisors last October. Many residents are concerned by the Plan's impact on the green space of our Belmont Bay community.   For your reference, we published a summary of the developments envisioned in the Plan last week (click here).

The majority of the residents on Osprey View Place and the president of the River Club Condo Association signed a petition to Supervisor Margaret Franklin asking her to stop the proceeding of the Plan to build a parking lot on the water front green space off the Belmont Bay Drive where the Hole #8 green of the Osprey Golf Course was located.  The petition cited the concerns including a lack of involvement by the affected residents, the ruining of the natural beautiful of the green space, a danger of increased car traffic caused by a potential new entrance from Belmont Bay Drive, loitering at the parking lot at night and added lighting pollution.

With the potential impact to the community, the Board feels it is important to keep all residents informed so the email that was sent to Supervisor Franklin can be viewed here. The BBHOA has been in touch with Supervisor Franklin on this issue.  Since the Plan was approved prior to her election to be our representative, the Board welcomes the opportunity to work with her on this issue closely.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me or any other Board member.
